DUE TO THE RAIN THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO FEBRUARY 12, 2025

Join Channel Islands Restoration for a rewarding day of restoring and preserving one of Santa Barbara's most beautiful natural spaces. This is your chance to directly impact your local environment while connecting with fellow nature enthusiasts and environmental volunteers. This is a mixed event; you will have the option of helping with trail work, seed collecting, and invasive plant removal or helping with installing and monitoring active bluebird boxes at the preserve.

What we'll do: Collect acorns for future oak plantings at the preserve and remove invasive hemlock to create space for native plants and other small habitat restoration projects. We will also install new bluebird boxes and monitor the active ones at the preserve.

No previous experience is necessary—bring your enthusiasm, a love for nature, and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty! We’ll provide all the tools and guidance you need to make a difference.

Why join us?

By volunteering, you’ll play a critical role in helping to restore the ecosystem of this cherished natural space. Together, we can ensure it thrives for years to come.

RSVP to reserve your spot and help us protect the future of the San Marcos Foothills Preserve!

You will meet at the San Marcos Foothills, West Mesa, at the end of Via Gaitero Road at 9:00 AM. We look forward to a terrific trail day!
